The Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing and healthcare. This course focuses on developing essential skills in patient care, community health, and midwifery practices.

Objectives

On completion of the programme the nurse will be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of lifelong learning and professional development to enhance nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate basic skills in teaching patients and giving nursing care to them.
  • Assess the nursing need of clients from birth to death.
  • Plan and carry out appropiate action to meet nursing needs.
  • Promote self care in people under their care.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of nursing care.
  • Focus: Comprehensive nursing care in various healthcare settings.

  • Training: In-depth exposure to medical-surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, community health, and midwifery.

ANM – Syllabus of Indian Nursing Council

Age: Minimum 17 years at the time of admission.

MHT-CET Nursing compulsory 

Education: 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination.
